Have you ever wondered how to blend two images together, well with this tutorial, you can.
First of all, you need to open both of your images that you wish to blend together, in this example I'm going to use a picture of my cat Duke and a nice sunset a friend of mine took in Cafe Del Mar.

Select one of the images and hold down the SHIFT button while you drag the first image on top of the second image. You must grab the image from the layers box otherwise nothing will happen, once you have hold of it the selection will look black like the example.

Now you will notice that the one image is on top of the other, do the necessary resizing to make your images fit where you want them.

Go onto the layers menu, once you have positioned your images where you want them go to Add Layer Mask > Hide All.

Once you have applied your layer mask you will see that in your layers box you will have something that looks similar to the example. Don't worry if it looks slightly different, it will all look the same in the end.

Press 'D' to reset your colour palette and select the gradient tool from your menu.

Press 'D' to reset your colour palette - (Foreground to Background) Linear gradient. MAKE SURE YOUR MODE IS SET TO NORMAL!

Now drag the gradient across your image and then it should reveal the image below but with a nice blended effect. The white will reveal your image while the black covers it.

And here is the finished product. Bearing in mind all image sizes have been reduced lowering the quality image.

Hey presto! Seamlessly blended images.
